Colonial Cities

Managua, Leon, Masaya Volcano, and Granada

Description

After greeting you at the airport, we will drive through old Managua and Loma de Tiscapa. We will continue our trip to Leon Colonial City founded in 1610. Here, we will have a chance to visit the Main Plaza of Leon and the Cathedral. We will explore the rural area of Leon by driving our 4WD car to Cerro Negro. This volcano is the youngest of Central America. After hiking Cerro Negro, we will go to Las Peñitas Beach to have a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. Here, we will have the opportunity to wash off the black sand from the volcano hike and relax. We will also visit Granada Colonial City founded in 1524 by Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba but not before stopping in Masaya National Park. We will visit the most spectacular active Crater of Santiago known as the 6 Gates of Hell in the World by National Geographic. In Granada, we will have the opportunity to do a boat tour in the small island formed by a volcano thousands of years ago. Visiting White Towns is a unique experience because we will learn how to make ceramics like the locals. We will also see the beautiful nursery of ornamental plants in every little house of Catarina Town.
